our story

Hiding in plain sight
on West 25th.

A mezcal bar down the street from one of America's oldest public markets, with a stone basement club beneath it.

the timeline

How we got here.

✦ 1840 The West Side Market starts as an open-air market.

✦ 1912 The market hall and its clock tower open across the street.

✦ 2004 We open our first bar on West 25th, pouring Belgian beer.

✦ 2023 Clandestina opens upstairs; Smoke & Mirrors opens in the stone basement.

✦ Next Irishtown Bend, the new park on the hill above the river, brings the riverfront closer to Ohio City.

West Side Market, c. 1912
